Shocked good god, finally a sensible decision!

Quote:
At least six UK music festivals are expected to allow people to test their illegal drugs this summer.

It's after a number of drug-related deaths in recent years.

Reading and Leeds Festivals and a number of other live music events are aiming to introduce the scheme with the support of local police forces.

Falls to the floor, thud!

One downside, you don't get your stash back:

Quote:
Festival-goers will be able to take their drugs to a testing tent run by The Loop, an organisation which usually conducts forensic testing of drugs seized by police.

They'll then tell them what's in the drugs before destroying whatever was handed over.

You only have to give them one pill or a line to test Wink

My worry is that the clubbers in question will be caught on film and be raided at some point during the festival as they will be known to have stuff on them.

This was trialled at SGP last year and don't remember hearing any scare stories about the testing service being used to gather intelligence.

And I guess destruction of the sample is a reasonable compromise - they couldn't really give it back. I wonder who performs this onerous task, and whether they have any vacancies Scratches Chin

Today I handled a titanium credit card that is made with brushed stainless steel and carbon. All I could think of was how magnificent it would be for chopping... Blush
