Lostly feat. Amber Traill

Label: Discover Records
Format: Digital
Genre: Trance

Now for something different from Lostly. You think he’s trance? Think again. It’s a drum & bass growler with edge. Remixes come from Gary Maguire and Thomas Datt.

The Original Mix is a deebee monster that isn’t as epic as you might think. Although it is expansive, it only runs for 3 minutes. But in that three minutes, it more than makes its mark. I would love to see what happened if this was dropped at Digital Society or Godskitchen. Its certainly a very interesting track with vocals by Amber Traill. It’s a biggie, that’s for sure.

Gary Maguire drops the first remix and its more of a trancer than a deebee assault. Psytrance is the order of the day and Maguire expertly wraps the delicate vocal around a tightly-knit body. I do like the feel of it; it does have an expansive feel, like the original, but it expresses it in a different way.

The second remix is by Thomas Datt and the Dattster does what he does best: reworking something into a beast of epic proportions. It certainly is faster than the Maguire mix and somewhat darker. It is also reminiscent of Datt’s machine-populated world of “Dead Machines”, with Ben Lost. It has that mechanised feel. Sweet!
