a long read but Trump has got so PROPERLY iffy friends. in short his lawyer is a friend of a guy who was trying to get putin to clear the building of trump tower in moscow in 2016 and Sater (this chap) is a Russian-born criminal once jailed for stabbing a man in the face, who is also a former associate of gangsters and of Trump and was once an FBI informant who, it has been claimed, supplied information on the mafia and al-Qaeda.
"The Trump Tower project introduces Sater, born Felix Sheferovsky, whose family emigrated to America from Russia when he was six, and who had been a friend of Cohen (trumps lawyer) since they were teenagers. Sater was convinced that Putin would help Trump to get to the White House and he and Cohen would receive the due credit. “Can you believe two guys from Brooklyn are going to elect a president?” was the excited email sent to Cohen at one stage.
He had stated, in earlier messages, that Putin would back the development of Trump Tower in Moscow and that this would be part of a grand plan. “Our boy can become President of the USA and we can engineer it…I will get Putin on this programme and we will get Trump elected.” Cohen says the emails were evidence of Sater trying to persuade his friend of the valuable role he could play, highlighting that if Trump could show his ability to get along with foreign leaders he would mark himself out from other presidential candidates.
Sater the kingmaker had come a long way from the time he was convicted in 1991 of slashing a man with a broken cocktail glass (he was drinking a margarita) and jailed for a year. He was prosecuted again in 1998 for his role in an investment scam in which Russian and American organised crime groups targeted the elderly, some of whom were holocaust survivors.
Sater avoided prison (and a potential sentence of 20 years) that time by becoming an informer, eventually paying a $25,000 fine. There are various versions of what he passed on to the US security agencies. Sater himself claimed he had used his contacts in the Russian underworld to help the CIA buy back Stinger anti-aircraft missiles supplied to the Afghan mujahidin. There is, however, no reason why Russian gangsters would have any knowledge of what happened to the Stingers and nothing has been presented publicly to back up his account."

Mate. You didn't genuinely believe that this utter pillock would be anything other than the car crash he is?
Everything about his campaigning showed this. I was genuinely amazed he won even with Hilary being so disliked.
Oh and Afghanistan is just his new deflector as North Korea have stopped posturing.
I wasn't expecting a principled leader like Obama or a charismatic leader like JFK but I've been amazed at quite how incompetent Trump is turning out to be.
My best hope was his presidency would go the same way as Ronald Reagan - nobody could believe it when he was elected, but he turned into a good leader because he knew his limitations and combined his public facing strengths with clever minds to develop and drive policy.
Intially, I presumed Hilary would walk it, there didn't seem to be any contest. But as I looked at American discussions and comments I realised she was widely disliked, and for a load of reasons. My turning point in who I felt would be best for the world came when I learned she has actively supported every war the US has been involved with for decades. The thought of her pushing buttons is scary.
Trump discovered that sabre rattling with Kim and NK diverted public and world attention but that seems to have returned back to him in recent weeks with the alt-right/kkk stuff so I think he's looking for new diversions.
How many countries are there
I don't believe it's that she was necessarily disliked so much, more so that a female president in the USA is about a million times less likely than a black male president, Americans aren't as racist as people often believe but they are f*****g overtly macho (read: NOT misogynist) in their ways and I can't see the majority of them wanting the 'commander-in-chief' of the US military etc being a woman.
Everyone of several mates in the states have said exactly this too, half of which have served considerable time in the US marines / navy and the other half are just day to day office workers / average joe's.
edit: Also, most friends I've spoken to in the states genuinely like the fact that 'Trump is just an average American dude, not a politician', the same sort of attitude that got Nigel Farage a lot of popularity for having a pint down the pub instead of quote unquote "bullshitting" the general public with the usual political w****r lies that have prevailed over the years within the 'common norm' that people have been used to and are sick of.

Ex president of Mexico throwing shade at Trump.
According to physics, nothing ever quite touches. When you lay your hand on something, there is a microscopic amount of space between the atoms of your hand and whatever you're touching... so no, officer, technically I'm not jacking off right now

This surprises me. As for clinton yes, she may have voted for every war going but she is a very well-versed politician rather than an incompetent maverick, I'd say a LOT of the US Congress has voted for every war going, even on the Democrat side.

I had no such faith. His inability to articulate anything during campaigning was horrifying. But he rabble roused and said exactly what the working classes wanted to hear... That they believed him is as mad as he is. The more he goes on, like his Phoenix Rally the other day, I am genuinely convinced he is not all there. He certainly shouldn't be in charge of any large military.
The fact he is still doing rallies when he is already the president is an indicator of how rediculous this all is.
Latex Zebra Yeah, something is probably happening somewhere.
