Do you have to give them a set time to pick them up or is it £1 for every minute after the nursery shuts? Our nursery are fine whenever we want to pick Thomas up, as long as it's specified morning or afternoon. But they do fine for late pick ups after they shut (not a £1 an minute though!).

Mon, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday they go from 7:30am -6:30pm. Thursday 7:30am-7:30pm. If you go over any of those it's £1 a minute. Daylight robbery but what are you meant to do - just have to be strict with leaving work and hope for no delays.

Penny's sister however may be able to do 1 or 2 days a week for a discounted family rate.

Will figure it out when the baby girl arrives Smile

Going back to work was so so so hard, but in a way I'm pleased I didn't have a choice because after a few weeks it became my haven, restoring (most of) my sanity!

Yeah, will see how it goes. I'm just looking forward to a cpl months off to bond and look after my princess Smile

London prices for childcare is daylight robbery. I pay £300 a month for both mine to be watched Mon, Tues and Wed from 7:30am until 5pm. And I feel robbed paying that.

Costs us just over £1000/month for one.
I don't like to wish their life away but I'll be glad when our youngest starts school. It will be like having a £1000/moth pay rise.

Looked into child care and it's roughly £1k a month. The one close to us also charges £1 a minute that you are late from collecting the child. Train delays by half hour that's an extra £30! It's something we are going to evaluate when it comes closer to the time as sometimes it's better financially if the mom just stays at home. It's fucking extortionate!

lol and you wonder why most parents knock drugs on the head (other than it's not viable doing them with young kids around). You just don't have any spare cash to spank on them. Kids really do suck up all your money.

BTW at our nursery if you cannot make it by the time they lock up for whatever valid reason you have they call social services to come and collect the child. Makes £30 sound quite a bargain!

Would they not just tie it to the gate or lamppost til you get there?

Only love can leave such a mark, only love can heal such a scar.
