Tbf, paedophilia does seem to be quite hectic in this country but imo this is not a new thing. We are just more exposed (*cough*) to it now because of the rise of social media and how quickly things go viral. The internet has meant that someone sending a dick pic can't deny it like someone flashing someone on a quiet street without cameras. And there was a huge hush up until not that long ago of how big the problem is so perhaps it jsut seems more prevalent now, but sadly the history is that this has always happened.
Also I think kids are more likely to come forward now and adults more likely to believe them.

hey? She was born in May??
Good girl.
That article is October 2016 though. I feel for the cops as people think more resources should be allocated to what they prioritise and there just are not enough cops to go around. Populations are increasing, and with that comes an inevitable increase in crime rate. This also means an increase in vigilante groups of people who think that the cops are not interested and the only way to get things done is to take things into their own hands. This can actually work against any investigation and can actually means they end up committing a crime themselves and making it harder for cops to do their jobs.

I don't think there are more people wanting to be nonces, merely that the whole thing with the world getting smaller and the growth of the internet makes it easier for predators to get to children without responsible adults noticing them, i guess back in our childhood it was more vans and puppies that parents could more easily try to keep their kids away from rather than chatrooms and fake profiles.
It's weird isn't it. I mean we all go by experiences and stuff.
I remember some guy wanking off in front of me in a public toilet when I was a kid. Being flashed in a park etc... This happened to my friends too. It genuinely seemed like a massive problem and a kid not coming home on time (pre mobile phones) was a massive fucking worry.
Now as a parent I haven't met any other parents who give an example of their kids being groomed. It has never happened to my daughter or her friends.
I am not suggesting for one minute that it is not happening more or less. It is just a thing that is a constant threat to me.
The same internet that now gives these people a new avenue is also the same internet that spreads (so help me) fake news or is full of click bait for worried parents... especially newer parents.
I know it is moving away from the original topic but I dislike sensationalism as a method of drawing people in.
This is something I may do a little research on, carefully. But actual figures of reported cases of child abuse over the last 3-4 decades, crime rates, missing children etc.
Whilst I'd always expect to see an increase decade on decade, populations grow after all. I'm interested in seeing if it is a huge jump up or a kind of predictable rise. I'm sure someone has probably done this research for me.

Yeah, I can go with that. I personally do feel though (and none of you will change my mind on this) that these groups are doing a good thing. You cannot shy away from the stats that Matt posted earlier, they are helping, the numbers do not lie
Yes, of course I would prefer it to be done by the police but that just isnt happening and therefore these groups have appeared.
I just wish you guys would actually watch some of thses stings all the way through and then make a judgement on how these guys operate. Its bloody awesome and very professional. But alas, I think most of you would rather just speculate without actually give it a go, which is a shame

So long as they do it within the letter of the law, keep the law informed and don't target the wrong people, I'm for it. But not if it's going to be be mob squad type bullshit, and not if they are going to start laying into other people they assume are associated with the actual paedo, etc.

No violence at all. The only bit of violence was at a shopping mall and that was the general public not the hunters. How they hold back is beyond me but they see the benefit of biting their fists and doing it properly to get a conviction.

See, I don't think people should be approached in a shopping mall as this could actually traumatise bystanders. Haven't see it obviously but really don't think public places are teh way forward.
