Drum & Bass has been around since the year dot but the crowd hasn't changed much in that time,it is still young.Normally at the SSE I go straight in for gigs but this time there was a queue that went right round the block (another sold out event -though they only use the floorspace not the seating). The SSE are pretty good with queues so it only took half an hour, most clubs would have taken two hours to deal with the same queue. It was mainly young but about 5% of the crowd were oldies.Whilst I was there it was mainly a type of Euphoric, commercial D&B,it may have got harder later. These events always go off right from the beginning and are full throttle all the way through,no slow build ups.It was a big,big production making full use of LED screens, lazers, stobes etc.The aptmosphere is always good fun and I like these D&B events in small doses.
As far as I can remember it has been at least 20 years since the SSE has been allowed to have an all night rave.
