November Trance Chart

(artist/title/mix/label)

(1.) Dave 202: ‘Fireball’ (original mix) – Captivating Sounds

A dead-cert Tune Of The Year contender from Dave 202 with this pumping big-room trancer. Bags of energy, a nice anthemic lead line and sky-high production standards combine to make this one of the tracks of 2008 for me. Essential stuff.

(2.) Giuseppi Ottaviani: ‘No More Alone’ (John O’Callaghan remix) – Vandit
JOC applies his Midas touch once again to this lovely vocal remix of Vandit’s biggest release of the year. You’ll already have heard this at clubs and radio shows across the world but it’s still one of the biggest tracks of the year for me.

(3.) Dualism: ‘I Beg You’ (Day Din & DJ Fabio remix) – Planet B.E.N.
It’s a couple of months old now but I’ve just picked up on this amazing hypnotic progressive psy-trancer. One of those great crossover tracks that combines the best of commercial trance and psytrance – I just can’t stop playing this. Well worth checking out.

(4.) Sunny Lax: ‘Mique’ (7 Skies & Static Blue remix) – Perceptive
Forthcoming on the fantastic Perceptive label, this is one of the most gorgeous melodic trance tracks I’ve heard all year. If uplifting, feelgood trance is your thing, look out for this one: it’s sure to have dancefloors smiling from beginning to end.

(5.) John Askew: ‘Blue’ (original mix) – Discover
It’s got some tough competition but, for me, this is probably one of the best tracks John’s ever produced. A beautifully-wistful synth line combines with huge sweeps and gated pads to result in an amazing set-starter of a track. Easily one of the highlights of John’s recent album ‘Z list Uber Star’.

(6.) Barry Connell: ‘Frizzbomb’ (Bryan Kearney’s Twice As Bright remix) – Goodgreef
It’s an absolute tragedy that this is a posthomous release from Barry Connell, who very sadly passed away earlier this year at a tragically young age. Barry’s great unrealised potential is summed up perfectly in this fantastic tech trancer, for which Bryan Kearney supplies the pick of the remixes. RIP Barry.

(7.) Tilt: ‘Invisible’ (Ehren Stowers remix) – CDR
One of the all-time great vocal trance tracks gets an extremely classy rework from Ehren Stowers, bringing it bang up to date with today’s production standards. This deserves to be huge so fingers crossed for an official release.

(8.) K90: ‘Hyperintelligence’ (Ian Betts remix) – Dataless
Another classic trance rework, this time with K90’s hard trance anthem getting a very welcome remix from Ian Betts, who can seemingly do no wrong with anything he produces. Here Ian follows-up ‘Colliding Circles’ with another great production, perfect for those peak-time trance floors.

(9.) Dima Krasnik & Vol Deeman: ‘Escape From The Earth’ (original mix) - Redux
One of the star newcomers of 2008, Dima Krasnik has made an immediate impact on dancefloors worldwide with a string of huge original tracks and remixes. ‘Escape From The Earth’ is a neat big-room trancer packed full of production tracks and a huge distinctive lead lead, ideal for late night sets.

(10.) Paul Miller pres. Contraption: ‘Level Three’ (original mix) - Discover
One of the most prolific producers around today, Paul Miller dons his Contraption guise to turn in this bouncy piece of uplifting trance. Miller’s on a roll at the moment and with a release schedule to rival anyone out there, I’m looking forward to hearing what’s next from this talented producer.

Good chart as always matey.

Totally agree with you on no.1 - an absolute stormer.
No.3 is great innit? Check out the older symphonix remix for a slightly eery sounding remix. Not quite as crisp n thumpy, but more atmospheric.

No.4 is gorgeous, and I love no.8 too. Great to see Ian back with some quality work.

Shame to see Second Summer slip out of the top 10 as it's one of the best of the summer imo.
