New Year's Eve is the chance to change, to progress, to leave behind the past and step forward into the future. After three years of curating events in various cities, Beat Dimension is a step forward – a new movement from Beat Redemption promoters Matt Broughton and Tom Massey.
Beat Dimension launches on New Year’s Eve, at secret location 800 capacity warehouse space in East London. Headlining the show is Belfast’s cosmic prince Space Dimension Controller, the prolific XXXY, and one of R&S Records’ leading lights, Pariah.
Space Dimension Controller is one of the most exciting producers of recent times. His recent LP ‘Pathway to Tiraquon 6’ released on the venerable R&S Records showcases the producer's star-dusted talents: super smooth analogue synths and warm intergalactic melodies are effortlessly woven together to create his unique brand of ‘galactic funk’.
Second on the bill is a man whose sound is fresh and modern whilst managing to reference a multitude of classic sounds including house, techno, 2-step and garage. XXXY has risen to prominence over recent years after his inclusion on the 2010 Fabric ‘Elevator Music’ compilation, and releasing records on labels like ‘Fortified Audio’ and ‘Ten Thousand Yen’.
Third is Pariah, a man at the fore of the R&S revival. A recent collaboration with R&S cohort Blawan has yielded some very interesting results. Together the pair are Karenn. An EP ‘Works The Long Nights’ is due in November and a full-length album is in production for release early next year on ‘She Works,’ their collaborative label.
Beat Dimension’s mission is to explore the kaleidoscopic world of electronic music, to showcase producers and DJ’s that transcend genre, span tempo and delve deep into bass infused sound.
Room 2 is hosted by TRIX, the newest addition to London’s house, techno and bass electronica palette. Excitedly working with names such as Appleblim, Lone, Boddika and Doc Daneeka, TRIX are set to welcome one of the biggest house acts of the year to grace this East London warehouse space. Live visuals by the masterful Mind Over Matter, plus residents Finn, Cropper and Sol will be bringing the bass weight (www.trixlondon.co.uk).
Especially for this event, Beat Dimension has secured an exclusive new venue managed by the brains behind the infamous ‘Ice Father Nation’. The 800 capacity warehouse space houses a huge main room, an intimate second room, a 5m high projection screen, a courtyard overlooking a canal, a mezzanine balcony and ample purpose built toilets.
