Couple of funny stories from CES 2018

First up, Cloi the talking robot who refused to speak to the presenter

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-42614281

Quote:
A robot created by LG to help users control their smart home repeatedly failed on stage at its CES debut.

Cloi was meant to be the centrepiece of the South Korean firm's presentation where it was supposed to show how new artificial intelligence tech could enhance use of kitchen appliances.

Instead it gave no response to three consecutive commands beyond blinking.

Experts say the demo represented a "disastrous" debut for the bot, which was mocked on social media.

And the SureFly drone wasn't so sure or flying, thwarted by drizzle

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-42616034

Quote:
It was meant to be a bold display of a transportation utopia. Instead, it rained - ever so slightly - and the whole thing was called off.

The SureFly passenger drone, due to make its maiden voyage on Monday, stayed grounded over safety concerns.

The mild drizzle in the cool Nevada air apparently proved too much for the craft touted, by the company at least, as the future of commuting.

The drone was given permission to fly by regulators just last week.
