ExtraSensory Cinema: Focusing on the significance of music in film.
Featuring film screenings alongside live acts and DJ sets that inspired or were involved in the film.
This new night joins the dots between films and music with this launch event focussing on the film 'Drive' which will be screened on the balcony at the Coronet, while there will be a guest DJ set from College. This French electronic music composer, whose track 'A Real Hero' was the standout on the superb 'Drive' soundtrack, punctuating the memorable driving scene midway through the film with the driver, Irene and Benicio; and then during the denouement.
In addition there is amazing support from the brilliant Eskimo Twins, Arp Point & Fade in Fade Out VJs.
An exciting prospect and an important new concept and addition to London's club scene.
College -
At the end of the 90s, College purchased his first computer, with which he created numerous demos influenced by artists such as Jeff Mills, Aphex Twin and labels such as Soma and Warp. In April 2007, he met Anoraak and decided to create a blog to share their most recent productions: the Valerie project was born, which led to the first Ep Teenage Color being released with the album Secret Diary following 2009. The release received critical acclaim from press and industry and led to tours across Europe, America and Australia.
'Drive' screening at 9.30pm
Starring Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan & Albert Brooks
One of the standout films of 2011, from director Nicolas Winding Refn, adapted from the cult James Sallis' novel, Drive is the story of a Hollywood stunt driver by day who moonlights as a getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld. He finds himself a target for some of LA's most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the husband of his beautiful neighbor, Irene. When the job goes dangerously awry, the only way he can keep Irene and her son alive is to do what he does best - Drive.
