I don't know about current data but this shows debt vs GDP and Italy doesn't look good:

Debt in relation to GDP is a different matter to growth.

Isn't growth or contraction the change in GDP? That's shown from factual stats on the right hand side and the UK was still ahead of Italy as of April/May...

Ahh, more recent stats show UK growth in September was 0.4% compared to Italy at 0.5% so you're right.

But Italy's economy is still looking pretty dire, debt is 133% of GDP, youth unemployment is 35.7% and their banking system is perilously close to collapse.

Not specifically a consequence of Brexit, but it looks like Merkel's coalition isn't happening...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-42047532

Good or bad for Brexit?

I'd say mixed:
On the one hand, her position is similar to May's election fiasco - weakness will lead to further uncertainty in Germany and across the EU.
On the other, Merkel needs to appeal to the electorate and appease German business so she may be open to thinking the unthinkable and trying to find innovative solutions to Brexit.
