A story of sorts here. Well, not really but it makes for a good intro, doesn't it? Anyway, the raver's diary is one to savour; tunes, DJs, nights out and, yes, even drugs might feature. But here, we have the remix edition of this particular raver's diary. Remixes come from Freedom Fighters and Robert Babicz amongst others. Some are lengthy, some aren't, but all are certainly interesting.
My particular fave is the drawn-out low-slung 15 minute odyssey of Cowboys, remixed here by Ferlin. Two more mixes of Cowboys follow. The depth of this remix intrigues me; its more electronica than techno but is, at the same time, very techno if you get me. Freedom Fighters cater for the trance-heads with a suitably heavy mix of Moto Perpetuo. I like this one a lot; in fact, its the one I'm playing the most.
Other mixes come from Grizzly, Vito Gotto and Robert Babicz. The sheer epic nature of this remix edition means its quite difficult to put down once you get into the bones of it. With a lot of remixes on offer, 13 of them in fact, you're bound to find something you'll find. For me, its the Cowboys remixes and the Freedom Fighters mix of Moto Perpetuo that push my buttons.
NB: The originals can be found on the original album, along with bonus tracks. This review covers the remix edition only.
