September Trance Chart
(1.) Andy Moor: ‘Halcyon’ (Alex M.O.R.P.H. remix) – Armind Huge-sounding, superbly produced trancer by a producer who can seemingly do no wong at the moment – Alex M.O.R.P.H. Superb use of the vocal in this track.
(2.) Bullet Proof: ‘Blue Monday’ – white label I fell in love with this amazing psytrance remix when I heard John Fleming play it at ‘F’ a couple of weeks ago. Thought it would be uber-exclusive… and then bought it the next day for £1.75 as a paid download. Bargain!
(3.) Stenna: ‘Skyline’ – Flux Delux Latest and greatest from Flux Delux, a label on fire this year. Lovely uplfting sound and fantastic production.
(4.) Climax 69: ‘3 Minutes Until Noon’ (Base Jumper remix) – Illuminate Big-room euphoric trance from the seemingly-endless Drizzly team of labels. Again, a great uplifting sound and plenty of energy.
(5.) Mike Foyle vs Signalrunners: ‘Love Theme Dusk’ (Parc remix) – Armind Airbase aka Narthex/Parc transforms this filmscore trancer into a dark, tribal monster with tons of neat production FX. Not quite as good as his amazing mix of ‘Kissed’ – but not far off either.
(6.) Christian Zechner: ‘Stellar Winds’ (M.I.D.O.R. & Six4Eight remix) – Spectrum Great driving trance to keep the dancefloor moving. Watch for the clever ‘turn the decks off’ effect near the end!
(7.) Fleming & Lawrence: ‘Attention’ (Steve Birch remix) – J00F My favourite release on J00F for my quite some time. Steve Birch adds a health dose of energy to John Fleming & Christopher Lawrence’s dark progger.
(8.) John Askew vs John O’Callaghan: ‘Game Over’ (Version 2 mix) – Discover Two of my favourite producers team up to provide a minimal, banging trancer. Discover = label of 2005.
(9.) Menno de Jong: ‘Tundra’ (Fierce dub) – Intuition Tough progressive trance which pushes all the right buttons.
(10.) Kuffdam & Plant: ‘Summer Dream’ (Paul van Dyk remix) – Vandit My favourite mix of one of the biggest trance tracks of the summer. Finally sees the light of day with the release of Paul van Dyk’s long-awaited ‘Politics Of Dancing 2’.
