Heaven forbid that I should be at all cynical about this...

BUT

1. Numbers down at legendary nightclub that has become a bit of a shithole
2. Across town - another legendary nightclub is closing down, highly publicised that every night there will be the 'last ever'
3. They notice that they appear to be ramming them in across town at legendary nightclub by virtue of the 'closing down' mantra
4. Seeing as imitation is the highest form of flattery and because marketing plan A across town is equalling more $$$$$$$$$$$ why not try it ourselves???
5. Watch the queues of clubbers go round the corner as you indefinitely postpone (each week) the 'LAST EVER' event

Razz

If however, the fridge is definitely closing down, it's a bad day Frown

Hopefully what it means is that new (or current) owners are going to invest some money - make it into a nicer, cleaner, less fucked venue which will be better for everyone in the long run. Especially us Brixton locals - many of whom have stopped going to the fridge because of the utter dive it's become.

But does the Hard Dance scene want nicer and cleaner venues Suspicious
I think they love to wallow in these shithole venues as a homage to parties in fields and warehouses like the good ole days.

It's owned by a few companies which invest money into it. Perhaps they might not feel that they are getting enough return from it, so they'll just sell it to whoever wants to buy it...

It is sad that this is happening, but lets see what they have to officially say about it. As someone said earlier, this info was put on the flyer or the info was given out too early, so maybe the situation has changed...

Would be nice to see it done up tho Thumbs up

This is bad. Nah, let me call it this - this is phukkt up!
