December Trance Chart
(1) Ian Betts: 'Love Resurrection' - Massif Finally officially released and puts a huge smile across the face of anyone who hears it. Vocal trance track of the year!
(2) Vadim Zhukov: 'Nothing Matters' (Vadim's Weekend mix) - Captivating Sounds Not hugely original melody-wise but I'm loving that bouncy bassline and the sheer energy it creates.
(3) Inner State: 'Changes' (John O'Callaghan remix) - Gesture JO'C continues his near-permanent residency in my monthly chart with a quality remix of this vocal stormer.
(4) Lingen & Moore: 'Passion' (Robert Nickson dub) - Direction Still can't stop playing this beautiful tune with its emotional melodies and rubber-y bassline.
(5) Alt + F4: 'Alt + F4' - Anjunabeats I really hope this is the new sound of Anjuna: proper quality trance and a little different from the label's usual output.
(6) Inertia: 'The Emerald' - Discover Yet another John O'Callaghan production - how busy is this guy? I like the metallic sounds of this one and its fluffy-ish melody lines.
(7) Altitude: 'Sunray' (Airwave remix) - Five AM Starts all deep and dark but by the time that slightly out-of-tune piano melody comes in, you're shaking your head at the sheer quality of this track.
(8) Raymond K: 'Moments' (DJ Des Cello remix) - Dance 2 O
More metallic sounds, a nice bouncy feel and big-room style melodies to shake the room. I've been asked about this one a lot when I've played it.
(9) Marc van Linden: 'Sunrise' - Go For It Proves that minimal trance can still have plenty of impact - it teases you with a subtle hook before dropping back in with that big bassline.
(10) Will Holland: 'Magicka' (Gareth Emery remix) - Banshee Worx Good old-school feel to this one: loads of arpeggios firing off all over the place. One of Gareth Emery's best tracks for ages.
