From its beginnings, some decades ago, Russian electronica has evolved into a sophisticated art. Combining sound, elements of video and theatrical performance the Russian dance hall has become an artistic evolution; the people involved have become legends. It’s the stuff history is made of. Marka:ff has invited the most talented proponents of this movement to end the 5th Russian Act festival with a blast!
Andriesh started his career writing music for video-games and is now one of Russia’s most promising composers of electronic music, Sergey Sapunov started out his DJ career in 1996 and has been touring Russia ever since, playing soulful house with that extra twist, Masha Era, hailed as Russia’s answer to Moloko according to producer Anton Kubikov (SCSI-9) will surprise Londoners with a neo cabaret performance that kicks right where it should. Arkady Air + Fliegerschule are dubbed as Russia’s brightest pair on the club scene, whereas veteran DJ Zorkin is a guarantee for doing that all hands in the air – until the lights go on! VJ Acidburn will make those dreams last…
This Russian all-nighter is the closing event of Russian ACT No.5, a Russian contemporary culture festival, organized by marka:ff with the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture. It is the result of cooperation with 44100.com, the main portal on electronic music in Russia and organizer of the MIGZ festival in Moscow, which is a video and music festival that unites the best of international and local talent.
