Chart Return for Jurrane

April Trance Chart - (artist/title/mix/label)

(1.) Dan Stone: ‘Watchful Eye’ (Sly One vs Jurrane remix) – Conspiracy

Hot off the production line and delivered to Conspiracy two days ago, our latest remix toughens up Dan Stone’s latest melodic trancer, adds a real driving edge and a nice dramatic break & build. Not sure when the release date is but the promo run should be soon. Look out for it!

(2.) Activa: ‘Remember’ (original mix) – Vandit Digital
I’ve always been a fan of Rob Stevenson’s productions but on this basis of this (and ‘Resistance’ below), 2008 is set to be his breakout year. Amazing production and a wonderful feelgood, blissed-out edge are likely to make this a firm fixture in my sets for ages. Superb stuff.

(3.) Mekk: ‘Resistance’ (Activa vs Mekk remix) – Discover Dark
I forgot to compile a chart last month but if I had, this would’ve been #1. When it comes to programming groove, there’s no-one better than Rob and this standout release shows why. One of those tracks I could listen to all day.

(4.) Trancience: ‘Trial By Fire’ (Sly One vs Jurrane remix) – Future State
Released a fortnight or so ago on Future State, our recent remix for new UK label Future State is up there with our favourites and has seen some great DJ support. Buy it now from Audiojelly, TrackItDown and all good download stores.

(5.) Armin van Buuren: ‘If You Should Go’ (John O’Callaghan dub) – Armind
The ever-prolific J O’C provides the pick of the bunch from Armind’s recent release, stripping back the vocal to occasionally incorporate the catchy chorus hook and then letting the synths do all the work. It might be a dub mix but you’ll still be singing this to yourself without even realising it.

(6.) Tranquility Base: ‘Surrender’ (Jaytech remix) – Anjunabeats
Easily the pick of Anjunabeats’ special centenary release package, this superb prog rework manages to retain all the key elements of the wonderful original mix while making it suitable for a wider variety of dancefloors.

(7.) Nish: ‘Blue Sunshine’ (Sean Tyas remix) – Tetsuo
Taking a steer from 2007’s incredible ‘One More Night Out’, Sean Tyas does his thing with the latest release on Tetsuo. You know what you’re getting here but it’s still good: lashings of energy, that big euphoric lead and a huge electro-infused bassline halfway through. Predictable, but great nonetheless.

(8.) Tom Colontonio: ‘Modern Day Madness’ (original mix) – Vandit Digital
Vandit kick off their new digital imprint with this stormer from Tom Colontonio. What this track lacks in melody, it more than makes up for with sheer energy and some blinding synth programming. Check it out.

(9.) Flowjob: ‘Woody Twister’ (original mix) - Iboga
Psy-influenced progressive trance from Portuguese producer Flowjob. This has everything I look for in a prog track: a big wobbly bassline, spacey effects and some very clever production tricks. I’m looking forward to featuring this in my warm-up sets in 2008.

(10.) David Newsum: ‘From Dubai With Love’ (original mix) – Discover
Lovely melodic trance from newcomer David Newsum who delivers something that sounds very much like a more energetic take on Koglin & Grant’s ‘Sequential’, one of my all-time favourite early-night trance tracks. The B-side ‘Sand Dune’ is also pretty good as well.

A lot of good stuff in this month's chart. For anyone who hasn't heard it - look out for the No.1 - I only heard it for the first time on Friday but it sounded like an absolute monster to me!

I'm also loving the Armin tune as well - it's one of those I haven't bought yet because everyone else has but I must get round to it - it's too good not to!

Ooh - just noticed the label your tune is coming out on - my new favourite label of recent times!
