DJ HARN feat. Spins

» Davey's Song

Reviewed by Pete M / Submitted 17-10-17 20:05

Label: Digitized Recordings
Format: Digital
Genre: Trance / Chill

A melancholic release from Digitized Recordings, who are one of my favourite trance labels. This is a tribute to one of the producer's friends who sadly passed away recently. He hooked up with Spins for this banging, and heartfelt, ode. This includes a Spins chillout mix.

Original Mix

Pouring emotion into an electronic track is no mean feat. That said, the original mix is an uplifting melodic monster that oozes joy and hope throughout its very bones. It kicks in all the right places and has quite a good build and feel to it. The synths are top-notch as well. Very powerful stuff.

Mike Norvak Remix

Adding a techy flavour to the track is Mike Norvak. Here, the feel is one of groove and methodical acid vibes. It is more driving than the front-end version and adds a bit more kick for your buck. I like this one. Almost as much as I did the original.

Spins Remix

Now we come to the melancholic stage of the track: the chill-out mix by Spins. This is where we get the cinematic re-vibe; the touching atmosphere, a mournful guitar, the ebb and flow of an ever-moving tide. This mix can serve as the opening of a set or the closing. Mind you, that's not the point of the mix. This is Spins' own tribute. Magical.

Proceeds of this single will go to charity. Smile
