Phil Reynolds & Costa Pantazis

» Continuum

Label: Metamorph Recordings
Format: Digital
Genre: Hard Dance

One of the busiest men in the Hard Dance producing scene at the moment is Costa Pantazis; For this track on his own label he is joined by one of the legends of the Hard Dance scene Phil Reynolds. So with two mixes an instrumental and original mix. We… Continuum (I’m so sorry!)

Continuum – Original Mix

This does not waste any time with pounding drums and loops getting things going. Quickly joined by a nice little acid line and some stabs that have an almost ethnic feel to it.
The bass line is simple but effective and carries the track along nicely.
During the break they keep the acid line and this is enhanced with big synths and some spoken word stuff that is probably from a movie… I have no idea which one.
The riff typical Hard Dance stuff and completely suited to the track.

7/10

Continuum – Instrumental Mix

The Instrumental Mix, from what my morning ears can tell, is exactly the same and is minus the spoken word vocal. Which in my opinion is inoffensive enough in the original not to warrant a version without it.
I dunno, maybe one half of the production team liked it more than the other.

7/10

Ok, this is Hard Dance, you know what it sounds like you know what it does. This is not going to reignite the scene but it certainly gives DJs playing this sound hope that there are still decent tunes to be made.
