Ariscan returns to EL-EL with a release called Orcas. This one contains a remix from Simon Bostock on the flip. As we wait for the release of Exhibition VII, which surely can't be that far off since number VI was released, we have new singles abound from the ever-resourceful EL-EL.
The Original Mix is a proggy affair with hints of trance thrown in here and there. Those familiar with the artist or the label should know what to expect here. Its a sorta midnight-type track; a track to antagonise the feet and the hips. The production is tip-top and is typical of what we've come to expect from a label like EL-EL. Beautiful stuff, this.
Simon Bostock ups the tempo and takes Orcas into peak-time trance territory. Even so, the mix adopts a proggy feel while still being more full-on in tone and mode. More suited to peak-time floors than midnight floors, this remix is solidly put together with a nice uplift and general clubbiness. I would plump for this mix over the original.
