Words from the man

In a previous life I was a club DJ. Everyone agreed that I was the best in the world. All the other DJs had sad panda faces, so sold their washing machines & girlfriends to pay me a King's ransom on the promise I'd go away and stop making them all look so bad. I took their money & vowed never to return to the mix - unless y'all were in need of something nice to play at your summer BBQ Big grin

BBQ SUMMER PARTY MIX

So, while dowsing the firelighters in lighter fluid & trying to get the damn thing alight enjoy South Carolina's finest ambient master Milieu. As the embers start to glow there's a couple of mellow Folk/House numbers followed by a slice of Chillwave from New Jersey's Memory Tapes. By now the guests should be eyeing up the sausages sizzling on the grill, add to that a few glasses of wine and its time to slide in the sexy Disco by way of France's Phoenix, NY's Holy Ghost and a bunch of cool and tragically beautiful disco friends. Burgers are done and everyone is avoiding the salad, heads down time for some peaktime stadium House to shuffle around the patio to. Loudeast pops up from 2001 like a good friend you weren't expecting to come and reminds everyone of the good old days when we were a little younger and crazier. The good times are rolling and as the guys start to crowd around the BBQ nothing will bring them back to the dancefloor... well, nothing except two anthemic hardhitters back to back; Stop and Stare from electro wonder kids Fenech-Soler is passed into the safe hands of Royksopp & Robyn which has the guys scrabbling for a safe place to rest their beer so they can join the girls (and the robots) stripped down and sweaty dancing around the garden. Suddenly Delphic drops it deep and dubby, a perfect time for some close your eyes, shake yo a*s, throw some moves business BUT WAIT, what's this?? It's only too cool for school French hard rockers Jamaica come to crash the party, put their foot through the speaker, start a fight, steal the last veggie sausage and cop off with your wife.

01. Milieu - Pink Leaves. 02. Junior Boys - Work. 03. James Yuill - The Sweet Love (Prins). 04. Memory Tapes - Green Knight. 05. Holy Ghost - Static on the Wire. 06. Phoenix - Lisztomania (Classixx). 07. Black Van - Yearning. 08. Jupiter - Vox Populi (Lifelike). 09. Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work. 10. Loudeast - Lights Off. 11. Fenech-Soler - Stop and Stare. 12. Royksopp - The Girl and The Robot. 13. Delphic - Counterpoint. 14. Jamaica - Short and Entertaining.

[One or two slightly discordant mixes in here, soz but if Memory Tapes wants to write his music in F-sharp minor thats just the way it has to be. I'm not going to call-collect to New Jersey & ask him to transpose the whole thing so I can make it fit with every other dumb House track in C Major. Because he'll cry like big baby Jesus. And that's not very nice].

See you next year!

They appear to have done a good job with your sex change operation.

"If this is your God, he's not very impressive. He has so many psychological problems; he's so insecure. He demands worship every seven days. He goes out and creates faulty Humans and then blames them for his own mistakes. He's a pretty poor excuse for a Supreme Being." Gene Roddenberry

Will listen this weekend if I get time but just wanted to say, I engineered one of the D&B tracks on the other mix and it was a real bitch (dude made it on Reason and from the shitist quality samples I'd ever heard) haha, so glad to see people can actually still play it! Laughs out loud
