If the promoter didnt have a problem with what you was wearing and chucked you out because of what other people thought then that is very harsh mate.

But you were just asked to put your trousers back on weren't you? No big deal surely? I think this one incident has been blown out of proportion and maybe if you had just shrugged it off and got dressed you probably would have had a better day.

This is the issue being discussed here; not keep homosexuals out of Tilt.

Bret& Sylvie who I have known for many years came to my NYE "HardHouse" party fully Booted'N'Suited & Bi-spectacled. When I opened the door you could have knocked me over with a feather, in all thoes years I have only seen them in their clubn stuf. Should I have refused entry, no, because as usual they were both wearing their lovely warm Smiles. I'm with you guysThumbs up
BTW no one complained to the management about their atire so I emagine I had invited propper clubbers to my bash.

Hyper! I'm a lean mean chicken dancing machine Hyper!

I will continue to go clubbing to all the other wonderful open minded clubs out there, wearing exactly what I like. I don’t harm, swear at, harass, get p*ssed and abuse, hit, grope or do anything else to ruin a person’s night out – contrary to one of the postings on here that tried to distort the issue by referring to my ‘selfish actions’.

.
You sound seriously confused full stop! As you put in your posting ‘life isn’t always fair’ - too f*cking right. The world can be a sh*tty, nasty place. Coming in to a club should be a chance to escape from the inequalities of the outside world – not a place where they are reinforced.

You’re confused. You’re trying to distort the issue by claiming this was an act of homophobia when clearly it is not. Your attitude validates the action taken against you.

Stop crying wolf and next time, learn some manners.

This really is getting beyond a joke. Theres a time and a place for everything and the simple fact of the matter is that Tilt is not the place for that outfit. Surely that is clear by now and surely that should be the end of the story.

People don’t go to Tilt to have their tolerance tested or to have their boundaries pushed or to engage in an examination of the injustices faced by those individuals who enjoy living life outside the mainstream. They go there to have a good time in a non threatening atmosphere. If Captain Underpants could see out from beneath the enormous chip on his shoulder he would see that his right to express doesn’t outway the right of others not to be exposed to that expression.

All this moaning about "what clubbing is about" is a massive load of bollox too. There is no unified "clubbing" banner under which all norms are the same. There are different kinds of clubs, frequented by different kinds of people and different standards apply within them. Just because its dance music doesn’t mean its all the same. You obviously find it hard to believe that there are people out there who like to go clubbing and listening to dance music but who do not want to be exposed to grown men in childrens underwear. Well believe it buddy, theres plenty of us!

Captain Underpants needs to grow up and stop bemoaning that his outfits cause offence. In the real world (that’s the one the rest of us live in) outfits like that do cause offence, be mature and intelligent enough to know when they are appropriate and to respect the views of others.

Your "Mother Theresa in Y-fronts" rant only serves to paint you as someone who wants to push the boundaries but doesn’t have the stomach for the response or the intelligence to see it coming.

poster! your attire would have been perfect in a gay club, where most men dress down to impress! yeah, clubbing is fun, and people can dress up/down...to a certain extend! but i fully understand tilt's policy, and their action was right. i guess tilt is a party for everyone and everybody.....straight, bi, gay, whatever.......are there to have a good time! i have no problem with gay men, i sometimes go clubbing in a gay enviroment when they have some good dj's playing in their clubs, and i'm cool with men dressed in skimpy stuff and running around with a hard on (as long as i don't get involved)....but at tilt isn't a sexed up gay club, and here people have a more "casual/trendy" attire", this i think should be respected - dressed in full helmuth lang at a squat party doesn't go hand in hand either! what nathan did was right, people felt uncomfortable by the way you were dressed! and to be honest, i kind of understand why - as i said; it's fine if you're in a gay club etc.....but some clubs do have a different "mentality" and a more "street/casual/trendy" clothes policy whether it doesn't say on the flyer.

One of the good things about Tilt, apart from the great music, fantastic clean venue and cool people, is that the crowd it attracts tend to make an effort to dress a little smarter/trendier than they might normally do at a trance/hard trance party. I happen to like that. Judging by some of the posts in this thread many of you would deem me elitist because it's soooooo much cooler to dress provocatively.

Just because Tilt is a club that plays trance & hard trance doesn't mean that it's a 'rave', or has to subscribe to all that PLUR mumbo jumbo, and is a free for all to dress however they please without consideration for those around them.

With regard to stating a dress code on Tilts promotional material, I think that’s unnecessary. All that's needed is for some common sense to be applied by people who go there. It doesn't take a genius to work out that wearing only revealing underwear could raise problems however jeans & t-shirt, although not being smart, is fine.
