Got a proposition for you...

We've been thinking about getting decks, just to mess about on (no aspirations, I promise). I want to try some out before we buy with the guidance of someone who knows what they're doing.

Who is up for giving me a DJing lesson? In return for ... well, suggest something. If you're skint il pay you, but if not how about I cook (and pay for) a meal for you and your girlfriend / flatmate whatever. I'm well into food (have reviewed for TimeOut among other things), so I think it would be a fair exchange...

Gotta have a decent amount of experience, and ideally trance, although could cope with hard trance. I've got a musical background, so understand about bars, phrases, etc, it's the physical beat matching that is a closed book.

I said in another thread that you are welcome to come try my set up, and have a few beers etc. I know enough to show you the basics, plus I have records I know you will like.

It will cost you nothing other than your company. If you have a boyfriend Frown then he can even come.

I MAY HAVE ALZHEIMER'S..............but at least I don't have Alzheimer's.

Riding the Pony is rarely smooth or easy, but then, the best rides never are.

darling that's very very sweet, and I will take you up on that offer. I'm hoping however, that someone who has a residency somewhere will be up for it, just to get as much help as poss

I'm always happy to teach you the ways of the breakbeat...

If I was starting out though, I'd probably get you started on techno or tribal house though.

TBH any records will do as long as they are roughly similar.

Not a huge amount but I do have some...
Got a far bit of 'Reactivate' style stuff knocking around, and I just started working for a guy who has his own trance label (check the link in my sig), so I just picked up a few promos off him... so yeah, I have a few trance 12"s... I would also advise you to get a couple of tunes that you know really well already, as obviously as a beginner you will find it much easier to mix stuff you are already familiar with...
