i want to use samples , the ones i have in mind are from movies and vocals from some hip hop tracks.

what is the law regarding this , im not entirely sure

do i need to split the samples into 6seconds each or what ? will be mainly for hard trance breakdowns that i want to create.

Help!

Thanks ,

wouldnt it make more sence trying to create original tracks rather than trying to clear samples or avoid prosecution?

You'd think so eh?
But look at his peers; from Karim's clear rip & press attitude to Steve Hill's sneaky way around a writing royalty, not to mention Tidy Trax caining half the Hollywood scriptwriters, or Hydrulix and his unhealthy HipHop sampling... or the million others.

If they did it and got away with it, made a lot of money and sucess... why shouldn't he?

to be fair, henry cullam tends to work their samples into the hydrolix tracks rather than have a predictable and mondane build up, only for a cheesey vox that has some vague reference to clubbers being drug buckets as seems to be the tody trend.

i dont have a problem with people sampling, but half the time it seems to be sampling with no real point, or depth.

When I wrote my original post above I just mentioned Harddance artists but just before I posted I added Hydrulix as an example as I knew it would snare you into protecting Techno hehe ...

Riiight.. and ACID Techno isn't the stuff with ACID 303 lines in it, it's the stuff with bullshit hooks of harddance instead of ACID?

i dont understand your question.

acid techno tends to be the name banded about for the form of techno with breakdowns and predictable structures because they usually rely heavilly on acidline hooks.

to me it sounds like a more intellegent form of hardhouse as its basically, more oftern than not, they follow the same layout. alot of this stuff also mixes better with harddance than it does with other styles of techno.

i'm not knocking the music as i have an exstensive (and still growing) collection of these types of records. i just wouldnt catagorise them as being techno if i was to be pendantic
