Lighter, not heavier.

Heavier would take energy.

Lighter is how the sun works. Fuse some hydrogen atoms, and the resulting helium mass is lighter than the mass of the hydrogen atoms, and the missing mass is what powers the sun.

The missing mass has been turned into energy.

It's not saying that a helium atom is heavier than two hydrogen ones, just that one helium is heavier than one hydrogen. Fusion makes heavier elements, fission makes lighter ones. Both release energy.

My arse it doesn't.

Im sure Samsung was showing foldable screens off last year... this sort of tech should be available sooner than "someday".

8.7-Inch Super AMOLED Tablets That Can Fold in Three Might Actually Be a Thing Someday

The 8.7-inch display that folds in the three is a real thing now

A new kind of technology has been showcased at the Display Innovation 2014 trade show that takes place in Yokohoma City, Japan. Semiconductor Energy Laboratory (or SEL) is the company behind an 8.7-inch Super AMOLED display that is unlike anything you have ever seen before. The panel is of the flexible variety and can be folded into three (as seen at Nikkei).

If women can do everything men can, how come they've never successfully oppressed an entire gender?

Record-breaking speeds have been achieved during tests of 5G data connections, scientists have said.

Researchers at the University of Surrey's 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC) managed one terabit per second (Tbps) - many thousands of times faster than current data connections.

The head of the 5GIC said he hoped to demonstrate the technology to the public in 2018.

Ofcom has said 5G could be available in Britain by 2020.

At 1Tbps, it would be theoretically possible to download a file 100 times the size of a feature film in about three seconds. The speed is more than 65,000 times faster than average 4G download speeds.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Energy-Transmitted-Wirelessly-Over-500-Meters-1-640-Feet-Used-to-Power-LEDs-475731.shtml

Imagine being able to fire up your favorite power-starved gadget without having to crawl out of bed to find your charger. Thanks to researchers in Japan, this utopian scenario might one day become reality.

The idea is to launch spacecraft in our planet's atmosphere, maybe even further up, and have them collect solar power and then wirelessly send it down to us. This would help curb our dependence on fossil fuels, maybe even make it possible to eliminate dirty energy sources altogether.

a leaked version of the operating system lets you grab updates from other computers, whether they're on your local network or online -- yes, it's a peer-to-peer network for patches
