» Flaming June (Ashley Wallbridge Remix)

Reviewed by Pete M / Submitted 04-03-16 18:22

Label: Enhanced Recordings
Format: Digital
Genre: Progressive

Flaming June by BT is rightly regarded as a trance classic. As it nears its 20th anniversary, gosh, has it been that long?, we celebrate with a new remix from Ashley Wallbridge of this classic trance hymn. You ready? Good. Let's begin.

The Ashley Wallbridge Remix has been billed as a thunderous re-style of this monumental track, the original of which is a masterpiece. Unfortunately, and regrettably, this mix fails to reach the high standards of the previous remixes done by Gareth Wynn, Jaytech & James Grant and BT himself. The construction of the mix is actually okay but as a progressive track, it doesn't quite work. Which is kinda disappointing really.

My advice really is stick to the original mixes, especially the 11 minute epic BT & PvD remix.
