J Hart » Surrender (Maison & Dragen Mixes) Reviewed by Pete M / Submitted 26-07-12 12:03 Label: Perfecto Records Format: Digital Genre: Progressive With Maison & Dragen on the remix, this is Paul Oakenfold's new single, Surrender. There's a Protoculture mix as well but this isn't included in this particular package. There are two mixes on here: the main mix and an instrumental. With a house feel, Maison & Dragen take on Oakie's sound and really turn it on its head. As opposed to the darker, more twisted, sound on the Perfecto Fluoro imprint, this is much more house-based and is more suitable for the conventional clubs and such. Its generally well-constructed with a nice kick and breakdown. The vocals are good too. The Instrumental is much the same with the vocals removed. It'll work well for those who like vocal-less tracks but for me, I prefer the vocal mix.
