Jimmy Chou comes back to Diverted Music with "Stardust Memory". Remixes come from Se.Ra.Phic and New World. Its a big old hard-edged trancer with a lot of energy and uplift. Par for the course really. This follows "Echoes", which housed a remix from Touchstone.
The Original Mix punches hard with the traditional trance-esque sounds; powerful synths and pounding beats. Its certainly a hard track but firmly in the trance vein with just a hint of acid bubbling at its heart. The adrenaline will flow and the arms will wave. Yeah, that sounds cheesy but its not. Believe me.
Of the remixes, the New World remix wastes no time in getting going. As with the original, all its power is contained in its beats and main bassline which, for the American producer, is paramount as he can wrap an emotion-led structure around the track. Just as powerful as his work on Heaven's Shore by tranzLift, with a touch of the theatrical about it.
Se.Ra.Phic is a name that has popped up on Diverted before and the head of A&R at the label, TrancEye (last name-check, I promise), has faith that he'll once again deliver the goods. And in general, the mix is well-made and isn't too overbearing. Its certainly nice and bassy and euphoric. Good mix.
