Coming together for a good ole scuffle, Chris Turner locks horns with Russian producer Running Man for The Persian Twist on Unearthed's Red imprint. Two mixes here: a Chris Turner mix and a Running Man mix.
Chris's mix starts us off and its anthemic, melodic, trance with a twisty baseline and free-spirited kicks. As its a Persian theme, well, being pedantic, its actually Iranian, it has an Asian feel to it. As a consequence, it feels worldly. Its not that full-on either; its more proggy-based uplifting stuff. Its nice enough and the vocal effect is cool.
Running Man provides the second mix and here, the tempo increases; becoming a bit more full-on in tone and poise. Its longer too; giving the track time to find its feet and really set its stall out. Its a bit more juddery than Chris's mix, utilising a sorta dugga-dugga feel. Mind you, after all that, its still relatively proggy-based with an uplifting atmosphere. Nice use of the vocal sample too.
