Label: MLXL
Format: Digital
Genre: Trance / Tech
Steve Allen takes a break from Upgrade Digital and takes his brand of hard-edged trance to Mallorca Lee's MLXL imprint. Its an unstable trance beast with a remix coming from Philip Estevez.
The Philip Estevez remix is the lead track and hides the somewhat unstable atmosphere in a tech-laden rework. Its suitably dark, yes, but its hidden somewhat inside a tech-driven body with nifty glitch effects added in for good measure. Its typical MLXL material actually but the Original Mix, which follows, has more body and more oomph.
Its the Original Mix which is second in the package. If the remix is the calm before the storm, this front-end mix is the storm itself. Sounding unstable from the off, it retains enough sanity, and marbles, to encircle you in thumping beats and an epic bassline. And big sounding synths. And some acid as well. Acid in trance music. Mmmmmmm....tasty, And that's what this is. Very tasty indeed.
