Piercing The Quiet Remixed - The Extended Mixes

Ignas feat. Julie Thompson

» Hold On

Label: Enhanced Progressive
Format: Digital
Genre: Progressive / Trance

The blue arm of Enhanced is the home of Ignas's new track, "Hold On", with Julie Thompson. This one comes with remixes from Maor Levi, Jovani and Kaspar Kondrat. There's also a dub mix as well for you vocal-less fans.

As the label suggests, this is a proggy track with wispy vocals and a cool and collected atmosphere. This is actually quite sweet and mellow; especially with all the sunny weather we're having in the UK. Its not too disruptive, nor is it too constrictive. It has a whiff of trance in it but not that much. Probably why its on Enhanced Progressive and not the main red label. Anyway...

Maor Levi appears once again on Enhanced and he provides a chunk-laden re-rub with some nifty lil effects added for good measure. Its a bit more clubby than the Original but retains the chilled atmosphere, of sorts, and the vocals. Not so much theatrical, as I keep banging on about in most trance reviews I do here, but there's a satisfying roary riff as well. Rawr. Nice work from the Israeli producer.

Kaspar Kondrat and Jovani are both new names to me. Its Kaspar who provides the second of the three remixes and it has a bit more method to it; kinda like something you'd expect to find on Colorize or the deeper arm of Perceptive but, somehow, it feels right at home here. The vocals are lower in the track; giving a slightly melodic feel to things. Nice. Jovani increases the tempo and the atmosphere changes somewhat which adds more energy to things. Its a nice bright and breezy re-rub actually.

For vocal-less fans, the Dub of the original is present for your listening pleasure. Just right for warm-up sets, I think. The instrumentation is given more room to breathe and shine through. Even without the vocals, it still sounds fresh.
