Indian Teen ‘Ravers’ Deserved Brutal Beating

Reported by News Editor / Submitted 16-08-12 15:50

A mob of up to 50 violent thugs who raided a small party in Mangalore were justified in battering five teenage girls inside because the gathering was a ‘rave’, two senior Indian politicians declared this week.

The Hindu Jagarana Vedike vigilantes attacked the teenagers at the Morning Mist Home Stay in Mangalore in July, after suspecting the afternoon birthday party for 13 friends was a ‘rave’. (Times of India: http://bit.ly/R1TmW7 )

However, Ms C Manjula, president of Karnataka State Women’s Commission suggested the girls’ decision to indulge in ‘immoral activities’ simply by attending the party, was a ‘more pressing concern.’

State Women’s Commission Chairperson Pramila Nesargi went even further.

“If you see the larger picture, those who beat up the girls were probably not entirely at fault,” she suggested.

“If you see a woman trying to jump into the well, you will not have time to think whether she was clad or not. This was a similar case. Won’t you beat a child when she does a mistake? Necessity knows no law,” said Nesargi. (Deccan Herald: http://bit.ly/MVhTNl )

In more India news, Congressman Eduardo Faleiro branded Russian and Israeli incomers as menaces this week, telling a press conference that Russians should be investigated for Mafia connections while Israelis should be ‘checked’.

"There is abundant evidence that Israeli tourists cause enormous damage to the social and cultural fabric of our state,” the Minister claimed, “They do not contribute to the Goan economy. They want to derive maximum benefit from minimum expenditure," he said. (http://bit.ly/Pcnspk )
