Super-rich bottle service patrons at Las Vegas’ Marquee Day Club ordered Mark Farina off the decks, he revealed this week, after worrying about him playing too underground house.
“Supposed to be going on now…but got the boot, apparently too much house for this Vegas crowd”, the respected Mushroom Jazz House star Tweeted.
“My liaison said manager was getting complaints from their table service crowd,” he added moments later, “My deepest apologies to all the true house heads that showed up. Was out of my control, unfortunately.”
EDM blog thebpm.net suggested the incident was ‘another sign of the changing of the guard’.
“Table service patrons at the event were not enjoying Mark’s trademark sunkissed house sound,” they noted.
“And in a venue when tens of thousands of dollars get dropped at a table or on a cabana, it appears that the customer is always right.” (BPM.net: http://bit.ly/KFxsoI )
EDM’s greatest enemy, DJ Sneak, also entered the debate posting a typically uncompromising message on Mark Farina’s Twitter.
“You gotta fight back man,” he urged.
“You earned you spot. Tell them mf who mark farina is,” he advised.
Soon after Mark responded again, clarifying what happened.
Couple things… Yes, paid in full. And didn’t even get to start my set. Told 15 min before. (guess Miguel and Julius over-housed it,lol)” he said.
