Tom Tom Club’s Chris Frantz chatted to Skrufff this week about his memories of 1977’s Silver Jubilee and what he was doing back then as drummer with Talking Heads and revealed that the seminal New York new wave band were in London at the time.
“Talking Heads was opening for the Ramones at The Roundhouse. There was much partying for the Queen all over town, although most of the punk kids were way more excited about the Ramones coming to town,’ he recalled.
“The Pistols and The Clash were in the audience. It was probably one of the best gigs of all time and we were delighted to be part of it,” said Chris.
