Majefa returns for another installment of the eagerly anticipated Summer Trance Special. Now in it's 5th year, Majefa is renowned for bringing you some of the world's biggest international Trance acts and this year is no different!

Headlining the event, ranking 22 in the DJ Mag Top 100 and flying in from Egypt is one of the scenes most exciting Trance acts right now. Playing every major event across the world from ASOT 550 in Miami to Global Gathering in the UK, Majefa is very pleased to announce that Aly & Fila will be gracing the decks in Sound Control on Saturday 4th August.

Having set up their own hugely successful record label Future Sound Of Egypt, which is supported by Armin Van Buuren's Armada label Aly & Fila have been responsible for some of the biggest tunes of the last few years, such as the massive, 'Breath of Life', 'Eye Of Horus', 'Lost Language' and the more recent 'We Control The Sunlight', which was voted the biggest track of the year by Armin Van Buuren in 2011, this Egyptian export will be the perfect peak time fodder for the hallowed Majefa dancefloor.

Supporting Aly & Fila is another act from the FSOE stable, flying in from Poland is one of the most exciting acts to have burst onto the scene in recent years, making his North West debut, it's Arctic Moon! With dancefloor destroyers such as the brilliant 'Adelaide' and 'True Romance' under his production belt, gigs spanning all over the world and been given the remix duties from the likes of Armin, Dash Berlin, Paul Oakenfold and Bryan Kearney, Arctic Moon is poised to be one of the next biggest names in trance!

Our next act needs little introduction. Having topped the poll of acts people wanted to see play at Majefa again, it is with great pleasure that we once again welcome back one of our favourite DJ's, the legendary Akira Kayosa! Since we last caught up with Akira, he has had releases out on the massive Black Hole, Alter Ego & In Trance We Trust labels. His huge track 'Disconnected' also featured on the FSOE 2 compilation and his radio show Synthetica is still one of the most listened to radio shows on Afterhours.fm.

The final headline act is another name that saw rise to fame under the guidance of the Future Sound Of Egypt label, UK based Neptune Project! Having burst onto the scene in 2009 when Armin Van Buuren announced that 'Aztec' was the tune of the summer, coupled with the release of 'Atlantis' and the remix of Mike Koglins 'The Silence',Neptune Project began to cement themselves as one of the UK's finest production duo's. Selected for this line up for their renowned energetic style, this Majefa will be one of the most uplifting Trance events we have ever done!

Warming up proceedings see's the welcome return of Majefa resident Tom Rains. Having been with Majefa since the start Tom is fully educated on what the Majefa regulars love to hear. So this year he is delving into the archives to put together some of the biggest underground modern trance classics of the last 10 years!

Be prepared for another night of full on energetic, uplifting, bangin' Trance......... Majefa is back!

Majefa: First of all I would like to say what a pleasure it is to have you on board for the next Majefa at Soundcontrol in Manchester on Saturday 4th August, it has been a long time coming but we have finally got you down to Majefa!

We are really looking forward to playing Majefa! The North West of England Trance scene is growing nicely.

Majefa: With yourselves, Arctic Moon and Neptune Project all having releases on FSOE and Akira Kayosa having tracks featured on the massive FSOE album can you sum up what it will be like to play alongside these acts and what we can expect to hear from your set?

Its always great to play alongside artists of our label , makes it that extra special, FSOE is a family after all Smile

Majefa: How is it you came about getting into Trance music, who were your inspirations for DJ'ing / producing and if you hadn't taken this route what do you think you would have ended up doing?

We use to collect Paul Van Dyk Mix Tapes in the 1990s and decided we would like to try this, PVD was our early inspiration, the fans are our inspiration now, they drive us forward to break new boundaries

Majefa: Many high profile artists have taken to producing this 'Trouse' sound, what is your opinion on this style of music and is it a route that you and / or FSOE may take in the future?

Each for their own, its not a route we would take, we stick to what we believe in

Majefa: You have played all over the world at some of the biggest venues and festivals, is there any event that has stood out as your favourite throughout your career and do you prefer the small intimate gigs or the large scale festival type arena shows?

Wow thats a question, we have played so many great events worldwide, in terms of a career breaking gig, would have to say ASOT 300 in Den Bosch in 2007, Small intimate gigs can be just as good as Arenas or festivals, they all are unique in their own special way, if the crowd is up for it, then its great feeling

Majefa: In May, you played at the massive Godskitchen sixfivetweleve event in Birmingham b2b with the legend John O'Callaghan. If you could choose any DJ in the world to do another b2b with, who would it be?

Wow another great question - playing with JOC was really cool, as we are good friends and bounced off each other in the DJ Booth, b2b with Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren would be a cool experience, we are also playing b2b with Ferry Corsten at the Full on Ferry Worldwide events which is something cool also, Full on Ferry is a real family spirit within our management company

Majefa: Finally, can you tell us any exclusive news on what you have in the pipeline, any juicy collaborations on the horizon?

We have 2 more original singles coming out over the next few months, we released Aly & Fila vs Jwaydan - Coming Home last month, a couple of remixes also to come in summer period, we are also working on completing our next Artist Album.

You can catch Aly & Fila playing at Majefa on Saturday 4th August @ Sound Control, Manchester. For tickets follow the the link;

Arctic Moon interview

Hi Thomas, first of all Majefa would just like to say it's an honour to have you as our second headliner for this year's event and we look forward to you playing your North West debut at Sound Control on Saturday 4th August.

Hello and thank you ! I really can’t wait for the party, I’m 100% sure it will be amazing.

Majefa: When was it that you first discovered Trance music and which producers inspired you to take up making dance music as a career?

It’s really hard to say when it was exactly but from my early age I was interested in all kinds of electronic dance music. I remember that as a kid I had many cassettes and cds that were my main source of new tunes and artists also these were the times that in music tv stations like VIVA you could hear some trance tracks and other EDM genres. I was inspired by artists like ATB, Armin Van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten.

Majefa: As a relative newcomer to the international stage, you have a very impressive back catalouge with huge tracks such as 'Adelaide', 'Starships over Alice' and the massive remix of Armin Van Buuren's 'Coming Home'. Is there any more tracks in the pipeline and if you could chose one producer in the world to collaborate with, who would it be?

There are some very interesting projects coming up. My remixes for Paul Webster and Tonny Nesse, new singles, few massive collaborations and reworks also I’m planning to do my first vocal track soon. So as you can see I’m very busy in the studio lately however I must say I’m getting a little bit lazy because of the summer weather here in Poland! There are a lot of great producers that I would love to collaborate with but if I had to choose only one I think it would be a film scores composer, maybe Hans Zimmer?

Majefa: Many DJ's / Producers in the Trance scene have altered their sound and have gone down, as some describe, a more commercial house / electro route. Is this something you can see yourself doing and what are your views on this?

When someone changes music style suddenly in one day just because the other genre is more popular then it’s a kind of behaviour I hate, but when someone changes it because he is tired of making same style for many years, wants to try something new and feels that he can create something interesting and fresh in other genre then change is really good and highly recommended. I don’t deny that I might try to do different styles in the future

Majefa: Outside of Trance do you have any hobbies and music do you listen to in your spare time?

I like to ride my bike, watch movies, meet with friends, just a normal life’s things. Regarding music I’m very open minded and I listen to a lot of different stuff from EDM genres to rock, film music, even some pop.

Majefa: Finally, what can the Majefa crowd expect to hear when you make your debut on Saturday 4th August?

Definitely very energetic, high bpm set filled with new and classic trance music and of course my own productions.

You can catch Arctic Moon playing in Manchester this Saturday 4th August. For tickets head over to;
