I did read yesterday (again, on the BBC website) that there is still a good chance he will see out his last year at Arsenal.

I do agree with you in that I think last season was his best and will prove to be his best. He was outstanding.

Agreed that AW must have seen this coming hence the new signings,

Fergie held onto Ronaldo for as long as he could before Real Madrid (there was talk for AGES before he left) so it might happen, but it might be too far gone.

Laughs out loud

What a load of shite. I'm sure before every game Wenger is saying 'It's OK if we draw this one as it'll keep us in contention for 4th.'

Wenger like every manager wants to win everything. His only flaw is he wants to win it his way, which suits the bean counters down to the ground.

All Arsenal fans are fraustrated they we keep missing out and RvP is well within his rights to fuck off if he feels we can't compete. His rather public announcement and dig isn't really on considering how the club have supported him over the years.
As I said on the BBC Website/Twitter yesterday. Last season was his Bergkamp season. He will never have another season like that again. Heck, It'll be a miracle if he can manage another season without injury. He was starting to fade at the end of the season and he has hardly done anything to make his name on the International stage at the Euro's.

With Giroud and Podolski signed, Wenger has clearly seen this coming.
Another midfielder and a centre back and we'll be OK. At least able to challenge for a cup.

If we can get 20+ Million for him then do so.
That said I'd sell him for 10 million overseas than for more to City or another Premiership club.
We'll see whether he is a Fabregas or a Nasri with his final choice of team.

Oh and there was a great Tweet yesterday.

'Arsenal Reserves are pleased to announce the signing of Arsenal Captain Robin van Persie on a free one year contract.'

Gotze would still be prime candidate but now that kagawa has gone to man utd not sure they will let him go.

Reading about this in the papers the fact that "when Ivan Gazidis returns from his 2 week holiday there will be further meetings" still to me can mean there is nothing set in stone yet. I reckon if he wasn't what, 29? then he would happily sign for arsenal again but he wants to hear of a push for a trophy in the next 2 years, not the next 6, which from one point of view I can understand, he is not in a position to wait for too long. Also the fact that money hasn't even been talked about yet is quite important. It is not surprising that the captain is questioning where the club is going when the fans have been frustrated by a lack of answers for a few years now.

You bought him for less than £3 million. Sell him a few years later for what...maybe £20 million? More? Good fucking business and you got a few good years service out of him. I'd imagine he's bored of the hanging out every other free day at the Red Lion in Holloway road. I'd want to move out of North London after 8 yrs too.

I hope he doesn't leave too acrimoniously as I've got a singed of him and Henry that I bought a few years ago that I may want to get rid of one day.

Roll eyes (sarcastic)
I was actually referring to the fact that you don't spend big in the transfer market. Just enough to keep the Champions League money rolling in.
What good is £20 million for RVP going to do you?
Can you replace him for that? More to the point will you replace him for that?
Will you will be celebrating down the pub because your board are astute businessmen.

Probably has already replaced him for that with podolski and giroud, i reckon he'd rather keep RVP for next season to let them bed down and go on a free than take the money but if not he'll fancy his chances.
