Am rather partial to the burgers from Five Guys, although not so keen on the fries.

There's a place called the Flaming Cow with branches in Ealing and Windsor which are among the best I've ever had.

I also really like Meat Market in Covent Garden.

I've yet to try Byron, have been to GBK loads and they're ok but nothing special.

Suffering from a small case of mood poisoning, must be something I hate.

I have been put off of trying 5 guys due to reports that the burgers are not worth the money.
GBK is OK, like you say, nothing special (I actually prefer the burgers in TGI's).
Meat Market is on the list to try. I will now add Flaming Cow (although I don't know when I will be in either of Ealing or Windsor).

Five Guys burgers taste nice but they do feel pricey for something that comes unceremoniously wrapped in foil in a brown paper bag.
Then again they're no more pricey than a GBK burger.
I'd say give it a go at least once.

I appreciate that Ealing/Windsor's a long way to go for a burger.

Have you seen the Time Out Burger Guide, it may give you some inspiration.

I will give 5 Guys a go. I was going to last time I was in Stratford, but the queues were too long so I went for a burrito instead.

The burger on that TimeOut list all look amazing.

We enjoyed a veggie burger from Jamie Olivers Diner, not keen on the offerings from any of the burger chains.
