See, I'm quite narrow-minded musically. I only listen to electronic stuff or certain types of soundtracks and not because I choose to be a music snob, it really is one of the only genres of music that I get something out of.
For me music is about the music itself, not words. It creates an atmosphere for me, words in song might tell a story or perhaps convey emotion but it doesn't serve that purpose for me, in fact it does nothing, especially commercial stuff that's always about getting with / banging / losing some chick.
I'm not even able to focus on it generally, instead I find myself focusing on the music, which if you're listening to certain genres of music doesn't leave much to listen to.
As an example, if you listen to hip-rop, rap or RnB and strip away the lyrics you'll generally find something that's far less dynamic and more repetitive than certain genres of dance and yet people that listen to it will say that dance is a repetitive genre, which it is, but then most music is in varying degrees, especially those I previously mentioned.

At least he's honest, he only listens to dance music, I guess from his posts that 70% of it is trance. Fair enough.
Completely missing the point with hip hop though, hip hop is vocally led music, in the main it's all about the vocals and the flow. Personally I think there's some incredible beat production in hip hop too but hip hop fans react to the lyrics and rhymes.
I like trance too but taking psy trance as an example, the basslines are very very samey.
Back to Chris Moyles, not his biggest fan but there are worse media celebrities these days, he was funny in his capital fm days, but maybe that's cos I was a teenager at the time
