Urgh.

I find her mannerisms behind the decks irritating.

Now I can see her stupid face as well it irritates me even more.

She did however have a single out that got remixed into a dance track...

I highly doubt she was very involved in the production of the original track and I'd wager she had nothing to do with the remix.

I generally dislike vocals in my music, making it highly unlikely I'd like her track even if it was a Morning Psy remix.

That wasn't meant as a dig at laptop DJs, I can't even mix so I'm not one to judge.

What I meant was that she doesn't seem to be able to mix and so this is most likely the best solution for her.

Actually, the best solution would be for her to give it up.

Thats cool. I didn't think you were.

Now I know there may be some sound delay but judging from the video she couldn't even dance in time. The nuances of lap top mixing would still be too much for her.

I think it is fair to say that everyone on the Internet is annoying.

Guetta, despite everyone 'serious' hating him for cheesing it up and 'selling out', is actually very good for dance music.

This. Guetta knows his onions, can still play a good DJ set, the fact is that he is choosing to make commercial music and use his own name as core brand, fair enough, man's gotta make a living. That kind of tune is pretty bad though. It's the kind of tune a young teenage voodoobass too young to get into any proper clubs would have heard on the radio and assumed represented all dance music, and therefore sought musical solace elsewhere.

Paris Hilton... at the end of the day, lives in a bubble. At the end of the day, she's a paid socialite, it's just a value-add if she poses about behing the decks a bit. Where were the monitors in that footage, or was she mixing 100% in the cans lolol

Isn't that just the way it goes though, people use their connections all the time, some use them to become PM, others for job promotions and others for free nights out.

As Aaron would say it's all about the music man, surely if her desire to DJ is born out of a real passion for the music (I have no idea if it is or not, just playing devils advocate), doesn't she have as much right as anyone else?

Does it matter what reasons she has for wanting to DJ? If she's any good she'll survive and with her fame and fortune, she should do well; if not she'll flop and probably do so quite publicly.

In a way, I'd rather watch celebs like Paris come unstuck, than see ordinary people get put through the mangle on Britain's got Talent.

I agree, although I'd prefer not to see either.

OK, just to set the record straight.

A DJ takes a selection of tracks they love or think will make the crowd dance and play them, as best they can, together.

Paris Hilton took a premixed CD or whatever and stood behind somedecks occasionally tweaking knobs and punching the air.

Afrojack (who possibly had some involvement) admitted this at risk of getting into trouble.

Paris Hilton not a DJ

So, kind of blows the taking lessons and wanting to do what she has enjoyed listening to others doing argument.
She just wanted to be able to stand in front of a big crowd and look pretty.
Which she also failed at. Wink

So what do you contribute to the scene then?

Shit memes, scorn or perhaps something else?
