Dog, duck or DJ? Neelix prepares for the Elixir of Life Masked Animal Ball
Written by Tara on 24-10-12 12:37 (28796 views)
Hamburg-born and bred Trekkie Henrik Twardzik aka Neelix started making music in 1998 and has been refining his sound ever since. His hard work and subsequent success is reflected in his inclusion on the line-ups for some of the world’s biggest festivals and dance events, and his recent entry into the DJmag Top 100 at No. 96 – his ‘Vote for Me’ campaign incidentally getting him a load of hate mail from unimpressed psy trance fans.

The self-confessed geek is currently putting the finishing touches on his seventh album ‘Nerdy by Nature’ and his iPhone app, which will enable fans to make their very own remixes of his tracks. With Neelix coming to London to headline the Elixir of Life Masked Animal Ball at Electric Brixton this Saturday 27 October, we beamed him up to answer a few questions for his fans on HarderFaster…

Hypnoise set to mesmerise London: debut appearance at World Lounge Project
Written by Andy Force on 19-09-12 20:08 (26054 views) (1 comment)
Jaime and Juan are a young Spanish duo who are currently making waves across the European psychedelic scene. Better known as Hypnoise, their sound spans the spectrum of daytime and morning full-on psy trance, and their cutting edge production style has marked them out as ‘ones to watch’ from the new generation of up and coming artists.

With great things on the horizon, and a spectacular London debut ahead of them, I caught up with them before their appearance at World Lounge Project on Saturday 29 September at Markfield Arts Centre.

Celebrating the launch of new album 'Something To Do' with The Egg at Waveform Festival
Written by Tara on 29-08-12 21:45 (27680 views)
I’m sure it won’t surprise many on this site to hear that the first time I met the guys from The Egg was when I charged them to get into a mate’s psy trance party in Acton. Despite their friends incredulously asking “But don’t you know who they are?”, as I didn’t I managed to extract some dollar from them. Mortified later on when I realised my mistake I was exceedingly relieved to discover that Maff and Ned Scott aren’t “Don’t you know who I am” kind of guys.

And after being blown away by their amazing performance at Easter’s Elixir of Life party, I’ve discovered that if you don’t know who the Egg are then you most certainly should. With the release of their new album Something To Do this week and a headline set at Waveform Festival this coming weekend, it’s certainly time they made their HarderFaster debut . . .

Expanding Your Senses with Odo7
Written by Psylicious on 27-08-12 16:15 (25835 views) (4 comments)
What has the sense of smell got to do with music events and outdoor festivals? Maybe it has some thing to do with creating an atmosphere within the environment that we interact in, that complements the audio and visual senses already triggered by the DJ and VJ.

Over a decade ago Odo7 (Erich Berghammer) pioneered and created the name of the AJ (Aroma Jockey), appearing on many stages around the world such as; Glastonbury, Roskilde, Love Fields & Festivals and, venues such as; WinWynn Shanghai, Imperia Lounge Moscow, Paradiso Amsterdam & Cocoon Frankfurt.

Notes from Glade 2012
Written by voodoobass on 15-08-12 21:43 (27222 views) (3 comments)
After coming back from a festival the size of Glade and being tasked with a write-up, it’s always quite tricky to know where to start. With a projected attendance of 10,000 people (the vast proportion of whom showed up despite the somewhat inclement weather, which I shall get to shortly), it’s a bit like reviewing a small town, with music, and despite best efforts to the contrary, one can only be in one place at once! Mutagen production masters Mechanimal get ready to join the Astral Circus
Written by Tara on 18-07-12 07:27 (32897 views) (2 comments)
Nick Sagar-House has worked hard to get to his current spot, positioned at the forefront of one of London’s most vibrant underground scenes. Originating from the world of thrash metal, which included gigs as a guitarist for A.L.I.V.E., his experience stretches back over 12 years. Long since having settled on the journey of psychedelic trance, he teamed up with Junior Oliveira in 2008 to develop the Mechanimal project, performing at festivals and parties across several different continents, from Brazil’s Universo Paralello to London’s Halcyon.

We caught up with Mutagen Record’s prize property ahead of London’s most exciting new event this summer, Astral Circus, this Friday 20 July at Brixton Jamm.
