Written by Andy Force on 05-02-13 22:44 (12557 views) (1 comment)
Atma becomes the latest delivery of raw psy trance talent to meet UK shores for Global Digital Masters presents: DIGITAL this Saturday 9 February at The Hackney Cut. Hailing from Romania and now based in Germany, Atma has successfully created his niche sound impervious to the tides and currents that dominate the underground psychedelic trance culture.

New Arrivals, Familiar Faces.
Written by Craig Gunn on 23-01-13 14:10 (12764 views) (1 comment)
In the case of writing a feature about psychedelic act CHAMPA (Isaac Houlli aka DJ Prozak) - I can be accused of nepotism on a grand scale. The act of interviewing and promoting a good friend of 12 years, the man responsible for introducing me to my future wife, may sit uncomfortable with some. For that I plead guilty. But, I would not be bringing this to the attention of die-Harderfaster members if I didn’t think it was of current relevance and assume you’d be interested in his music. Otherwise I would have touted his virtues years ago. [Full Story]

They're a bit special. Zoney & Louk get stuck in to each other.
Written by HarderFaster on 15-01-13 02:34 (15426 views) (3 comments)
Dance music has changed an awful lot since Harderfaster first came into being. Styles, genres, call them what you will, have split, merged and sometimes spawned exciting (and dull) variations. DJs and producers have lead, followed and jumped on bandwagons according to their current tastes or just because the wind changed direction however somethings remain a constant. Dean Zone and Louk have been well know to all here at HF Towers for quite a long time. Always sticking to their harder roots and serving up tracks, sets and parties for those who believe the bosh isn't dead and there'll always be room for another tough trancer. Rather than send a roving reporter out in the cold we got them to interview each other. We may regret that decision but you can decide for yourself. [Full Story]

Psychedelic Adventurers Hypnocoustics
Written by Andy Force on 08-01-13 21:57 (17999 views) (1 comment)
Hypnocoustics are Joe Studt and Benjamin Wood from the UK. Their unique music has been raising many people’s eyebrows since they started the project in 2010, as they endeavour to take the art of electronic music creation to a whole new altitude.

Whilst they prepare to show London what they're all about this week at Tribal Village – A Psychedelic Adventure, we just managed to squeeze an interview out of them and discover how their journey is going and where it started...

Mebjar returns to London for Halcyon's international trance celebration at MOS
Written by Tara on 20-12-12 20:25 (21614 views)
The latest Liquid Records resident Mohammed Mebjar bides his time between his native United Arab Emirates (UAE) and London. Owner of A State of Endorphins Records, he produces uplifting progressive and psychedelic trance that he’s played to receptive dancefloors alongside the likes of Tristan, Avalon and Headroom.

Over the next few days Mebjar’s hard work and dedication to his art are really going to pay off, as he’s got what can only be considered the gig of a lifetime – playing the main room of Ministry of Sound at Halcyon on Boxing Day, headlining with his heroes Infected Mushroom and Astrix at the biggest celebration of trance to hit the capital in 2012. The party continues into New Year’s Eve, where he’s playing at Psyrhythmix at the 414 followed by Elixir of Life’s 24-hour marathon celebration. With the festive fun about to kick off, we tracked him down to his home in Abu Dhabi to answer a few questions for HarderFaster…

Jay OM re-builds London's Tribal Village
Written by Tara on 15-12-12 15:27 (21385 views) (1 comment)
Journey, Omsphere, Jay OM, Sonic Wave Control and Crocodile Rangers: Free-Spirit Records’ main maestro Jay Mastino has more musical projects on the go at any given time than many musicians will have in a lifetime. The international jet-setter has just got back from playing at the first trance event ever in Guatamala, Mayan Soul Festival, so is now safe in the knowledge that the Mayans didn’t actually predict the end of the world later this week – surely good news all round there?!

Having been around the London psy trance scene for well over 10 years, Jay certainly knows how to put on a good party. So when we found out about the launch of his new event, Tribal Village on Saturday 12 January at Crucifix Lane, we definitely wanted to find out more…

Infected Mushroom unveil their Army of Mushrooms at Halcyon
Written by Tara on 03-12-12 20:09 (25161 views)
Like all true artists Erez Eisen and Amit ‘Duvdev’ Duvdevani aka Infected Mushroom are constantly changing and evolving. Their May 2012 album Army Of Mushrooms moved their focus away from the more recent rockier tip back to their electronic roots, but with elements of dubstep infused throughout. Meanwhile their latest live creation, The Unveiling takes their performance to a whole new level, introducing a 3-D mapping visual experience while Erez and Duvdev play live in separate spheres.

The boys are back in London for a rare set at Halcyon at MOS on Boxing Day – where they’ll headline alongside Astrix, Dejavoo b2b Libra9, Champa, Zeus, Mebjar, Andy Force and many more. Taking place over four rooms of music from Liquid Records, Babies Events and Illusiom, this international celebration of psy trance has to be one of the highlights of the year. With the excitement mounting, we caught up with Infected just as they touch down in LA from Australia...

Who do OOOD think they are?
Written by Andy Force on 20-11-12 20:41 (27653 views)
OOOD are a psychedelic-electronic band with humble beginnings. These four guys have known one another as far back as a time when I probably wouldn't have been able to say the word 'psychedelic' without spitting my dummy out, and have been contributing to the ever-changing landscape of the UK music scene for the best part of that period.

A four-piece musical experience is a rare thing to find at a party these days, so we at Astral Circus HQ appropriately decided that there would be nothing more extravagant than to put them on stage in front of our eager mob of bedlamites, surrounded by the most insane display of visual delights we could find without sending the economy into another recession!

Rising Binary Star Psibindi brings the Astral Circus to town
Written by Tara on 14-11-12 21:51 (27144 views) (1 comment)
The first time I saw Rena Biring aka Psibindi play, she closed the room at an epic Acid Monkey party one Sunday afternoon, held in a squatted building that had formerly been seOne club. Having come in the morning I admired her ability to keep the more jaded party-goers who’d been there all night on the dancefloor with her euphoric driving beats. Alongside Acid Monkey’s usual mind-blowing décor and lighting, I also couldn’t help but think that if only seOne had more parties like this while it was going, it may well still have been open!

But it turns out that Psibindi is no generic up-and-coming DJ who just happened to get a good booking to close an epic party: she’s been recording music from an early age and had the questionable pleasure of being told by Simon Cowell that she couldn’t be marketed! With Rena launching her new EP Binary Star at Astral Circus next Friday 23 November, it was definitely time she told HarderFaster her story…
