Andy M is a veteran of the underground scene who can whip thousands of fans into a screaming frenzy whatever genre he is playing.
He began his love affair with music back in 1990, aged just 11 he followed the dance music scene attentively and would often stand and watch the DJ’s he was in ore of dreaming of becoming a DJ himself. After buying his first pair of decks at 13 and combining a natural love of music with the passion and vision to be successful in the best job in the world, Andy quickly mastered the art of DJ’ing. Quickly progressing from ‘bedroom DJ’, he was playing to small groups at local youth clubs and friends parties, Andy was even savvy enough to organise his own party with all his own equipment in the back room of a local pub. At 16 Andy set up Flashback promotions and was organizing his own under 18 nights at Weymouth Pavilion. This was an incredible feat for someone so young and earned Andy a lot of admiration and respect from many of his more experienced peers. Andy wasn't even old enough to buy a beer when he earned his first nightclub residency at the Group Therapy Nights in Weymouth.
Since these humbling beginnings Andy’s floor filling sets have given thousands of clubbers memories that will last a lifetime. He has hundreds of big clubs and parties under his belt, has had numerous residencies at such legendary clubs as The Monastery and The Country Club, and has also been featured in a number of the major music magazines including Wax, 24/7, Muzic, and M8.
Equally passionate about producing music as he is playing it Andy lovingly restores re-masters and re-edits tracks for his sets and regularly drops one of two of his own works of art in the mix. In the year 2000 Andy co-founded Bare Cheek Recordings, a label that would give him a platform to showcase his production. Since then he has had several strong releases, his debut track ‘Acid Frenzy’ earned him massive support from industry leaders such as Paul van Dyk.
Andy M is a touching example of what it means to be in pursuit of a dream. His passion, determination and vibe never falter, and after 16 years of playing to a crowd, you can still see the same excitement in his eyes today.
